Field Engineer – Multiple Openings

Job Description: 

The function of the Field Engineer is to act as the mobile field service engineer on assigned open tickets and work in collaboration with senior engineering staff members, Response Center, and logistics to resolve customer affecting technical issues in a timely fashion in order to maintain maximum customer satisfaction second to none.

The Field Engineer installs, troubleshoots and maintains an extensive variety of products and equipment. Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed. Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers’ needs. Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity, leadership, and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Field Engineer responsibilities are:

  • Has a thorough understanding of and practices techniques to prevent ESD damage to components.
  • Perform remedial repair activities on customer site.
  • Perform hardware installations.
  • Perform assignments as directed by Response Center Technicians or senior technical staff.
  • Require infrequent backline support while performing remedial activities on-site.
  • Recognize situations requiring a service call Escalation and follows proper Escalation Procedures.
  • Provide the support required to close service events promptly, within the SLA and to the satisfaction of the customer (“fix the customer”).
  • Provides timely, accurate and unambiguous updates to the ticketing system.
  • As needed, communicates frequently with customers and other TERiX personnel.
  • Validating actual problem and validating correct parts to be used for service.
  • Effective ‘debrief’ and reporting of service call for future enhancements.
  • Travel to and from customer locations, documenting work activity and maintaining administrative paperwork.
  • Software training including, but not limited to, servers, storage and networking equipment.
  • Hardware training including, but not limited to servers, storage and networking equipment.
  • Test various parts used for service.
  • Train other engineers.
  • Ability to work with and enhance the team (synergy) concept.
  • Follow company guidelines for SLA (Service Level Agreement) for responding to customer calls.
  • Follow Company Procedure for Parts Supply for Customer Service.
  • Follow appropriate procedures, either Software or Hardware, to resolve the issue.
  • Communicate issue and problem resolution notes back to Response Center.
  • Work within established guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by your manager

Qualification:

  • Strong Communication Skills.

  • Minimum directly related experience of 4 years.

Networking Engineer – L3

Job Description: 

Engineer will serve as an escalation point on support calls for products supported in our network product catalog.

Provide ongoing Tier 2 support of production environments that include Juniper as well as Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, and Aruba Products.

Engineer will carry out testing of new features, and functionality as required and to help develop plans to implement and verify that they are operating correctly in the live network.

Engineer  will test patches and fixes to operating software and to ensure that they are implemented and functioning correctly in the pre-production test network (if available) and then live network as implementation plans dictate.

Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, configuration and network problems and to open and track vendor support cases through to problem resolution on production issues.

Support ongoing efforts in defining best practice policies for Riverbed products and submit these practices and policies to our Knowledge Base.

Engineer  will participate in an on-call rotation and may be called upon to work off-hours to support customer escalations.

Engineer  will continuously develop additional skills in other products as business needs dictate.

Engineer is capable of working a weekend shift as outlined (Thursday-Saturday or Saturday-Tuesday during the day / night).

Required skill sets:

  • Knowledge of Firewall – (Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX etc.).
  • Knowledge of Load Balancer – F5(LTM, GTM & WAF), Array (2600, 1600 Series).
  • Knowledge of IPS/IDS- (Radware  DefensePro IPS/IDS).
  • Knowledge of Proxy (Bluecoat, Websense).
  • Knowledge of McAfee, Symantec & DHCP etc.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Router (Cisco ASR-9K, ASR-1K, 7200, 3900, 3800, 1900, 1800 Series etc.).
  • Knowledge of Cisco Switches (Cisco 7600, 6500, 4500, 3800, 3700, 3500 & 2900 Series etc.).
  • Knowledge of Juniper Routers (MX-960, 480 & M320 etc.).
  • Knowledge of Juniper Switches (Ex-4500, 4200, 3300, 3200, 2200 Series etc.).
  • Knowledge of HP Switches (Pro Curve 8200, 5400, 2800, 2600 Series etc).
  • Knowledge of Wireless- (Aruba-7210, Cisco-2500, Ruckus-Smart zone 100 & 24 Online).
  • Knowledge of Monitoring tools (Solar winds, What sup gold, MRTG).
  • Knowledge of Ticketing tolls (HP Open View, Remedy, and Sapphire).
  • Knowledge of Team Viewer, Cisco WebEx, Any Desk, Ammyy Admin etc.
  • Knowledge of Avaya, Nortel & Mitel PBX etc.
