Instructions for Script Use
Manufacturer/Operating System-HP HP 9000 and Itanium HP-UX V 10.20 versions

The purpose of this script is to get configuration information from your systems. This data will not be shared
outside of TERiX and will be used only to calculate sparing levels for your contracted systems.

If logged in as root, the script will give us maximum information. If you cannot or are unwilling to run as root, we will still get much of the information we need for sparing purposes. (No. and speed of CPU's, Memory and some IO information).

Cfg2html is a UNIX shell script that gathers the necessary information to facilitate our support process. The script will be provided as a tar file that you can ftp in binary mode to a directory of your choice on each system to be supported.

(1) Copy this text based script file to each system

(2) Uncompress the file (uncompress TERiX_HP-UX_10.20_SystemInfo_080314.tar.Z)

(3) Untar the file (tar xf TERiX_HP_SystemInfo_080314.tar)

(4) Execute the script, just type the following commands:

# cd cfg2html
# ./cfg2html_hpux.sh

(5) This will take about 5 minutes to complete depending on the system and its configuration. It will create 3 files in the current directory called <hostname.html>, <hostname. err> and <hostname.txt> and if available, it will create other hostname.xxx files where xxx are other extensions for different plug-ins.

(6) If possible we would like a hostname to serial number mapping created. If not, we will need to send a local FE onsite to collect the serial numbers.

(7) Instructions for sending output to TERiX:

Please send the output files to TERiX via one of the following methods:

Email:
- email the file to config_data@terix.com
